City of Worcester Flower Show 2010

This year the fifth City of Worcester Flower Show will take place on Saturday 14th August in Gheluvelt Park to coincide with the Heritage Lottery Funded Grand Opening Event.
The show will be officially opened by The Right Honourable Mayor of Worcester at 1.00pm.
Following the success of last year’s event, organisers are making an early call for potential entrants to plan their contributions. As well as hosting wonderful displays of flowers, fruit and vegetables, the show aims to encourage and inspire individuals to become involved in making, growing and creating a whole host of things which show off the best of Worcester – in one of the best settings in Worcester.
Event co-ordinator Linda Ohlson said that the show is designed to cater for everyone regardless of age or experience: "The competition part of the show has eight categories; Floral; Cacti & Succulents; Floral Decorations/Art; Vegetables and fruit; Cakes and Preserves; Handicraft; Photography and a Children’s Section and enthusiasm is likely to be more important than talent."
Henry Sandon
Henry Sandon of BBC TV’s Antiques Roadshow, who considered to be the world’s greatest expert on Worcester porcelain, will be at the fifth Worcester Flower Show in Gheluvelt Park on Saturday 14 August from 1:00 pm – 5.00pm.
You can meet Henry and bring your prized porcelain for him to view and value (at your own risk). There is no charge for evaluation, but donations will be collected for the Help for Heros charity.
All entries this year are FREE.

The show will also feature live music from The Worcestershire Youth Brass Band alongside the displays of flowers, fruit and vegetables. Visitors will also have an opportunity to learn more about composting and recycling or just shop at the arts and craft stalls and the organic herb, plant and vegetable farmer’s market stalls.
