Storytelling in Gheluvelt Park

Children can enjoy a special storytelling and finger puppet event at one of the city’s most popular parks next month.

Gheluvelt Park – in the Barbourne area of the city – is hosting the event on Saturday 6 February from 12midday to 1.30pm.

Michelle Newell, Park Warden at Worcester City Council said : "Storytelling is a magical part of growing up and one that we all look back on with fondness and nostalgia. We are encouraging parents to bring along their children and join them in listening to magical stories about the hidden world living in the ponds and trees in our beautiful park."

The story will be told in the park by storyteller Neil Alderson from St John’s Library; the event will be split in two with the finger puppet workshop taking place from 12midday to 12.45pm, followed by Neil’s story starting at 1.00pm.

The event is aimed at children aged between 5 to 8 years – and any younger siblings who may wish to come along!
