The Park’s the Place to Celebrate Mother’s Day!

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust are inviting people to Gheluvelt Park on Sunday March 14th to take a look at the birds in the city park. Adults and children will have the opportunity to learn the best places to spot and hear birds as they stroll through the park, and start to learn how to identify each species by their markings, song and behaviour. The park, which is off Barbourne Road, has many trees and a lake that numerous birds are attracted to. OPAL West Midlands will also be on hand to help out.

This event takes place between 10am – 12noon and is free, but donations to the Wildlife Trust welcome. No booking necessary. For more details please contact Zoë Stevens at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust on 01905 754919. Details can also be found at www.worcswildlifetrust.co.uk

Zoë Stevens, Community Officer for Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, says "The park is so easily accessible to the residents of Worcester, we would like to encourage more people to use this green space and enjoy it as much as the wildlife does. It is an important habitat for our urban birds as well as a place to walk the dog or have a picnic."
