Casual Museum Assistants (Commandery)
Salary £6.30 per hour – as and when required

The Commandery Museum has vacancies for Casual Museums Assistants. The role requires flexible individuals, willing to work varying hours in this Grade I listed building, sometimes at short notice. Regular work is not guaranteed as the successful applicants will be required to work on an as and when basis, covering absences of permanent staff, including some weekends, evenings and bank holidays. An interest in history and museums would be an advantage. Candidates will be required to demonstrate an understanding of visitor/customer service issues.

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2010, the Commandery will become part of a larger Museums Service meaning that staff will transfer to Worcestershire County Council.

Creditors Officer

We are looking for an energetic and committed person to fill this important position in the Council’s centralised Finance Service.

The Creditors Officer role is responsible for processing the Council’s creditor payments to suppliers, using a computerised payments system including electronic purchase ordering and goods receipting. Previous creditor payments experience is a must as are good communication and organisational skills.

Accounting Technician

The Accounting Technician role is mainly responsible for providing support on financial reporting, budgeting and budgetary control, year end accounts and related finance issues such as control account and bank reconciliations, capital accounting and taxation. IT skills are a must and candidates should be AAT qualified or willing to study for AAT, or qualified by relevant experience.

Funded by Sport England, we are seeking to recruit a Sport Development Officer who will be responsible for assisting the partnership in continuing the delivery and development of successful sporting programmes with an aim to increase participation in sport across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

The successful applicant will work closely with a wide array partners to assist in the delivery of sport based programmes and initiatives such as Sport Unlimited and the Community Sports Coach Scheme. The post will also work closely with National Governing Bodies of Sport to support the co-ordination and delivery of their Whole Sport Plans.

You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Candidates should possess a sound knowledge of the development of UK sport and illustrate effective partnership working skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to meet agreed targets are also essential for this role.
