ARBORICULTURALIST

Arboriculturalist
Salary £18,270 to £19,998 p.a.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within Worcester City Council’s Arboriculture Team. We are looking for an experienced Arborist who is both physically fit, used to working outdoors and has knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm of modern arboriculture.

We are looking for a person with the qualifications and relevant experience to join our team on a permanent basis. You will be part of a small team working in and around the local authority boundaries maintaining the City’s tree stock.

Duties will include pruning, crown reductions, pollarding, storm clearance and tree planting. You will respond to enquiries by the general public, inspecting tree stock for health and possible defects. You will be responsible for general maintenance of chainsaws and associated machinery.

This a full time post, 37 hours a week.

You will be required to pass a disclosure check regarding spent and unspent convictions and cautions before commencing work. If you disclose any information you will be treated fairly and will not be discriminated against.

Closing date for applications is Friday 3rd July and interviews will involve a climbing assessment and basic identification test, held on 5th and 6th August.

COMMUNITY WORKER

Community Worker
Salary £18,270 - £19,998 per annum

We are looking for motivated and resourceful person to fill this important post, initially on a 12 month contract.

The post holder will be responsible, under the direction of the Sport & Community Development Manager, for implementing the City Council’s community development programme.

The work will necessitate face-to-face work with people from all sections of the community and the supervision of regular activity sessions. The role will include creating and implementing community needs assessments, designing appropriate activity programmes and building community capacity by developing skills, knowledge and understanding within community groups. It could also involve direct responsibility for physical resources including buildings as well as the line-management of paid and voluntary staff.

The work will involve duties during unsociable hours.

BUSINESS SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Business Support Assistant
£7,445.50 - £7,947.50
Hours: 18.5 hrs per week

A vacancy exists for a part-time Business Support Assistant within the Business Support Section based at the Orchard House Complex. The post holder will be required to work as part of a small team providing the Complex with a comprehensive postal service and printing facility. Your day to day duties will include dealing with incoming/outgoing post, scanning invoices and digital photocopying. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday afternoons only.

Applicants must be able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and possess GCSE Grade A-C English or equivalent. Applicants must also demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
