The Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire is an alliance of the eight Local Authorities and two Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) of Herefordshire and Worcestershire, Sport England and The University of Worcester. Further details of our work can be found at www.morethansport.com Funded by Sport England, we are seeking to recruit a Sport Development Officer – Clubs, Coaches and Volunteers who will be responsible for assisting the partnership in continuing the delivery and development of successful sporting programmes with an aim to increase participation in sport across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
The successful applicant will work closely with a wide array of partners in developing and implementing club, coach and volunteer strategies and action plans. Liaise with School Sport Partnerships in the delivery and co-ordination of the Step into Sport programme. The post will also work closely with National Governing Bodies of Sport to support the co-ordination and delivery of their Clubmark scheme.
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Candidates should possess a sound knowledge of the development of UK sport and illustrate effective partnership working skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to meet agreed targets are also essential for this role.
You will be required to pass an Enhanced Disclosure Check regarding spent and unspent convictions and cautions before commencing work. If you disclose any information you will be treated fairly and will not be discriminated against.
