To support Worcester City Council’s commitment to the environment, the Council is offering organisations and groups the opportunity to apply for up to £1,000 funding to deliver projects which will benefit the environment.
We welcome applications to fund or partially fund projects which will reduce carbon emissions, reduce waste, protect the natural environment, help communities to adapt to future changes in the climate or raise awareness about environmental issues.
The purpose of these grants is to help local groups to take action to protect the environment. These grants do not need to be match funded and can support simple initiatives. Grant funding can also be used to support a larger project.
The application form is simple to complete, reflecting the small scale of these grants.
An example of a project that may be funded is a community group who wish to enhance biodiversity and access to fruit by planting fruit trees in a community-owned location. Information to be included in the application form includes the cost of the trees and the commitment the group has from group members to plant and maintain the trees.
Groups can apply for up to two grants for separate initiatives by the end of March 2022.
