Warmer Worcestershire has access to funding to support owner occupier households where the gas boiler has broken and the household is considered to be fuel poor.
The funding is offered through the Warm Homes Discount Industry Initiative by Agility Eco.
The project builds on the council's successful Boilers on Prescription project which came to an end last year resulting in expected annual savings of over £300 per household receiving a new heating system.
This resulted in the Boilers in prescription project being awarded West Midlands Energy Efficiency Award in the Vulnerable Customer Support Campaigner 2017 category.
It is well documented that living in a cold home can have a negative impact on a person's health and wellbeing and can easily exacerbate long term health conditions in particular respiratory illness and cardiovascular disease.
The funding will be allocated on a first come first serve basis, before the deadline of the end of March 2018.
In order to access this funding, the household should first contact Act on Energy, who will work with the householder to complete an eligibility survey.
Eligibility will be based on the applicant being in receipt of means-tested benefits, or meeting criteria from the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) during your initial application, as well as having a broken or inefficient boiler.
Eligible households are then referred to the contractor for a technical survey, which helps to determine what works need to be completed.
For more information and to confirm eligibility contact local Energy charity Act on Energy 0800 988 2881 Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
