New talent sought to perform at 2019 Victorian Fayre

Organisers of the 2019 Victorian Fayre are looking for amateur choirs, bands, dance groups, soloists and ensembles to perform at the popular event, which regularly attracts over 100,000 visitors to Worcester’s city centre.

Selected groups will be invited to perform for 30 or 60 minutes on one of a number of stages which will be prominently placed in Cathedral Square.

Although the four day event doesn’t take place until 28 November – 1 December 2019, the deadline to register interest in performing is Friday 6 September.

Applications from schools are welcome - and performers can collect money for a charity of their choice during or directly after their performance.

“There is always a fantastic atmosphere at Worcester’s Victorian Fayre; it is a great opportunity for local groups to show off their talent and perform to a large open air audience,” says City Council Economic Development officer Helen Mole, who is responsible for the event’s organisation.

“Christmas may seem a long way off, but because of the huge scale of this event we always plan far in advance.  By registering interest by 6 September, selected performers will also have plenty of time to prepare and rehearse.”

The Victorian Fayre was first started back in 1992 by traders from picturesque New Street and Friar Street. Now in its 27th year, the event has grown a lot but has stayed true to its traditional roots with plenty of Victorian-themed characters, festive treats and a wonderful atmosphere.

This year there will be 200 stalls across the city centre, selling local arts and crafts, delicious street food and gifts – further details and booking form at
