Service temporarily suspended.
The Saturday skips collection service has been temporarily suspend with immediate effect, because of concerns about health and safety risks for members of the public and Council employees. The service has been running in the same way and in the same locations for a number of years. The service will be reviewed to make sure it is delivered in the right way and is safe, easy to use and that waste can be separated out for recycling wherever possible.
The Council is looking at how a future service could be delivered and how this fits with the collection services and local household recycling centres available in Worcester. The way the service is provided may change and further details will be provided when agreed.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience, however, alternative disposal facilities are available at the following Household Recycling Centres.
Signs will be put out at the regular Saturday Skips sites over the coming weeks, two days ahead of the weekend to try and let as many people as possible in the area know about this.
As a temporary measure we are offering a 50% reduction on prices for bulky goods collection while the Saturday skips service is reviewed.
The Bulky Waste service can collect the following items:
- Household appliances such as microwaves, cookers, washing machines, fridges and freezers
- Electrical appliances such as TVs and PCs
- Beds and mattresses
- Bags of garden waste
- Rolls of carpet.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, while this review takes place.
