What is Pride in Place Warndon?
Pride in Place is a national Government programme designed to bring long‑term investment into local communities.
Warndon West is one of 169 areas chosen to take part, and will receive £20 million over the next 10 years.
The best part? Local residents will decide how the money is spent.
This means people who live or work in Warndon can help shape the future of their neighbourhood and improve the places that matter most to them.
The project aims to:
- Give local people a strong voice
- Bring neighbours together
- Help make Warndon a lively, safe, and welcoming place for generations to come

How will it work?
Over the next 10 years, the £20 million investment will be split into:
- £12.47 million for capital projects (such as new buildings, improvements, or renovations)
- £7.19 million for revenue funding (to help run or maintain projects and buildings)
This funding will be delivered in three phases across the decade.
Importantly, the Government and Council won’t decide how the money is used—the people of Warndon will.
A Neighbourhood Board is being created to help make these decisions.
Here are some more details about the board:
- The Board will shape how money is invested over the 10 years.
- Worcester City Council will support by gathering views and helping set up the Board.
- The Board will include at least eight members, most of whom should live or work in Warndon.
- You don’t need any previous board experience—training and support will be provided.
- The board is expected to be in place and have its own work programme by November 2026
Upcoming events
We’ll be running a variety of events for everyone in the community. These events are your chance to tell us what you love about Warndon and what you’d like to see improved in the future.
The drop-in event on Thursday 25 June at Cranham Parade has been postponed due to the hot weather.

Summer Fun in Warndon
Join Pride in Place Warndon for six weeks of Summer Fun in Warndon from Friday 24 July to Friday 28 August.
Sessions will take place at Warndon Hub on Shap Drive.
Youngsters, this is your chance us what you think about Warndon and help shape future play opportunities.
The sessions will be:
- Friday 24 July - Firepit style cooking 11am until 5pm. Ages 9-16.
- Wednesday 29 July & Friday 31 July - Play Activities ages 9-12 at 12.30pm until 2pm and then ages 13-16 at 2.30pm until 4pm.
- Wednesday 5 August & Friday 7 August - Young People led activities. Ages 9-12 at 12.30pm until 2pm. Ages 13-16 at 2.30pm until 4pm.
- Wednesday 12 August - Arts and Crafts sessions. Ages 9-12 at 12.30pm until 2pm and then ages 13-16 at 2.3pm until 4pm.
- Friday 14 August - Arts and Crafts sessions Ages 9-12 at 12.30pm until 2pm and then Taekwondo session ages 13-16 at 2.30pm until 4pm.
- Wednesday 19 August & Friday 21 August - Pizza Roll Making chef led activity. Ages 9-12 at 12.30pm until 2pm and then ages 13-16 at 2.30pm until 4pm.
- Friday 28 August - DJ Mixing - Come and learn basic mixing skills from a DJ followed by an End of Term Party. Ages 9-16 at 12.30pm until 4pm.

How is the Pride in Place Warndon scheme progressing?
Lots of planning with groups from across Warndon has been happening behind the scenes as the programme has taken its first steps.
A successful recruitment process has resulted in Hannah Harrison being appointed as Chair and David Workman as Vice Chair of the new Independent Board.
Hannah and David will now begin appointing the remaining board members over the forthcoming weeks.
More engagement events will be announced very soon for the summer months.
Independent Board Chair and Vice Chair
Hannah Harrison has been appointed as Chair and David Workman as Vice Chair of the Pride in Place Warndon Independent Board.
Hannah works in Warndon and is the Community Leader of the Oasis Warndon Community Hub, where she has worked for over five years.
She previously worked at St Richard’s Hospice and has first-hand experience of the support and services available in Warndon for people of all ages.
“I love being a community leader working at the heart of Warndon,” said Hannah.
“I’m really excited to chair a board of Warndon residents who will collectively work together to provide significant investment in the area.
“My own experience as a young carer has given me a first-hand insight into the impact of health inequalities not only on families, but on communities.
“These challenges remain present within Warndon, and I believe meaningful, lasting change must prioritise the needs of the community.
“I’m deeply committed to ensuring that board decisions are made with a focus on wide-reaching impact, making lasting changes which will remain long beyond this scheme.
“My children and their friends are part of the generation who will grow up amongst the changes, improvements and initiatives this funding will bring.
“It is crucial that we do this right, not only for our whole community today but also for the future generations to come.”
David has been a Warndon resident for 47 years and has brought up four children in the area.
He runs a software business and has experience of volunteering in several roles.
He said: “I’ve seen a lot of changes in my time living in Warndon, and I love living in this area.
“I’m looking forward to playing my part investing in Warndon’s future.”
