Have your say on where you can vote
Worcester City Council is reviewing the locations currently being used as polling stations for elections – and wants to hear your feedback on them.
Have your say in a quick online survey at www.worcester.gov.uk/voiceit about polling stations in your area. The Council would like to hear your views on proximity to transport links, safety, ease of identification, lighting, accessibility, size and security – as well as any other issues of concern.
The Council would also like suggestions on alternative buildings which could be approached as polling stations for future elections.
"We want to encourage everyone in Worcester who is eligible to vote to exercise their democratic right – and this consultation will help us to pinpoint and eliminate any factors which might deter voters from visiting a particular polling station," says Shane Flynn, Acting Returning Officer for the Worcester constituency.
"If you have views on how polling stations in your area could be improved, or would like to suggest alternative locations, then this is your opportunity to influence choices before the next election takes place in Worcester."
The survey closes on Thursday 10 October 2019. Responses will be considered at Worcester City Council's Personnel and General Purposes Committee on Monday 4 November 2019 with any changes going to Full Council for consideration on Tuesday 19 November 2019.
