Expert health professionals will be offering lifesaving resuscitation training at Worcester’s Guildhall next week.
The drop-in event is being held between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Thursday 16 October and is open to everyone.
The training is free of charge, no booking required and you can learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in just 15 minutes.
Registered nurses and resuscitation professionals will be on hand throughout the day to deliver the sessions.
Every year in the UK, over 30,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals. Early CPR and defibrillation can more than double the chances of survival.
The event forms part of Restart a Heart Day, held annually on 16 October to raise awareness of cardiac arrest and to give people the confidence to act quickly in an emergency.
Councillor Katie Collier, Vice-Chair of Worcester City Council’s Communities Committee, said: “I would urge everyone who can to come along to this session at the Guildhall.
“You never know when these lifesaving skills might be needed — they could make all the difference in an emergency, making the difference between whether someone lives or dies.”
