Memorial service to remember those we have lost in the last year
A special memorial service is being held at Worcester Crematorium and Cemetery on Wednesday December 15.
This is an opportunity for people from across Worcester to come together and remember the loved ones they have lost over the past year.
Tickets are free, however numbers are limited to 100, so local residents are being encouraged to apply for tickets as soon as they can.
"With festive celebrations round the corner, many people will be facing a very different Christmas from those they have known before, because of the loss of a loved one," says Doug Henderson, Bereavement Services Manager at Worcester City Council.
"Our memorial service is an opportunity for people to come together, share the experiencing of grieving for a loved one, and also celebrate that person's life."
The service, starting at 6pm on December 15 at the Astwood Road Crematorium, will be led by the Reverend Laura Handy who will be joined by civil celebrants Lisa Rutter, Debbie Campbell and Helen Lammas. People of all faiths are welcome.
After the service, light refreshments and mince pies will be available. There will also be an opportunity to make a donation to Dementia UK.
