Community groups in Worcester are being encouraged to apply for funding to support projects that bring people together.
The Government’s Common Ground Award aims to strengthen community ties by investing directly in groups that make a positive local impact.
A total of £1.7 million will be distributed across 2025 and 2026, with successful applicants able to secure grants of up to £10,000 each.
The money can be used to fund new community buildings, refurbishments, and expanding existing facilities which are used to bring the community together.
The funding is available from central Government and not Worcester City Council.
It can also be used to purchase essential equipment, such as laptops or furniture for buildings.
Councillor Katie Collier, Vice-Chair of Worcester City Council’s Communities Committee said: “We are encouraging community groups across Worcester to consider this opportunity if they meet the requirements for the funding.
“Our city is home to fantastic organisations that create bonds and friendships by bringing people from different backgrounds together.
“It’s vital that we continue to support and strengthen this work, ensuring our communities thrive.

Eligible groups include voluntary organisations, charities, community groups and social enterprises.
Applicants must state the amount of funding required and confirm that it can be spent by 31 March 2026.
In addition to funding, successful groups will be invited to join a knowledge-sharing network with other organisations.
Applications open on 14 October, with the deadline for submissions on 21 November. Funding will be awarded in January 2026.
