New trees have been planted on the riverbank alongside Ketch Caravan Park, after Worcester City Council served a Tree Replacement Notice on the landowner.
Some 28 trees, suited to wet environments, have been planted on the site in the St Peter’s area of Worcester.
Once mature, the willow, alder and aspen trees will enhance biodiversity and provide screening between the caravan park and the neighbouring open countryside.
The Notice was served after 28 trees that were within the Riverside Conservation Area, were removed without the necessary consent from the Council, part of improvement works to the caravan site.
The City Council carried out a full investigation and served the Notice.
This has been fully complied with, with the new trees – which are better suited to a riverside environment than those they replaced – being planted by the landowner.
The new areas of hardstanding did not require planning permission from the Council, because it complied with the requirements of the Site Licence.
