The Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre will return this December, bringing a festive feel, entertainment and an economic boost for the city.
This year’s event is taking place between Thursday 3 December and Sunday 6 December.
Worcester City Council is once again organising the Fayre, which brings an additional £7.3 million a year to the local economy through additional visitors, overnight stays, and spend with local businesses.
More than 200 stalls will line Worcester’s streets, creating a vibrant festive atmosphere and attracting over 150,000 visitors across the four days.
Cathedral Square will come alive with the sounds of local school and community choirs, alongside live music performances.
Meanwhile, visitors can enjoy the traditional funfair and the ever-popular Victorian carousel in Cornmarket.
Adding to the festive magic, the darkly humorous world of Gin Lane returns on the Friday and Saturday evenings of the Fayre.
This will see the Clik Clik Collective transform the Shambles alleyway into a nostalgic Victorian scene, complete with themed performers, games, and singing.
The Mayor of Worcester will officially open the Victorian Fayre on Thursday (3 December).
Councillor Katie Collier, Vice Chair of Worcester City Council’s Community Committee said: “The Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre is one of the city’s most important events, bringing thousands of visitors into Worcester.
“The Fayre also brings Worcester’s communities together. The performances from local school and community choirs help create a wonderful atmosphere, while residents and visitors can enjoy spending time with friends and loved ones as they explore the city and all it has to offer.
“From the bustling market stalls and festive entertainment to Worcester’s fantastic hospitality and retail businesses, the Fayre showcases our city at its very best and highlights why Worcester is such a special place to visit and enjoy at Christmas.”
