With less than two weeks until this year’s Worcester Show, the deadline to register your competition entries is fast approaching.
This year’s Show takes place on Sunday 10 August, from 10am to 5pm at Pitchcroft. A firm favourite in the city’s summer calendar, the event is set to offer a vibrant mix of fun, creativity, and community spirit.
With 170 competition classes on offer, there is something for everyone – whether you are a seasoned grower, baker, writer, or photographer, or just beginning to explore a new hobby.
All entries must be submitted by 10am on Monday 4 August on the Worcester Show website.
From vegetables to visual arts, creative writing to crafts, all abilities are welcome to join in the fun.
Young creatives aged 12-17 are encouraged to enter the Youth Skills & Creativity category.
There are a wide variety of options, including photography, cartoon strip creation, and short story writing.
For the youngest participants, aged four to seven, the Fun & Creativity category offers simple, imaginative challenges – such as making a flower or jewellery piece from paper or card.
The Competition Marquee will showcase all the entries and serve as the judging venue on Saturday 9 August. Winners will be announced and awarded coveted Worcester Show trophies and medals the next day, when the event is open to the public – though the real reward is the enjoyment of taking part.
Councillor Jabba Riaz, Chair of Worcester City Council’s Communities Committee, said: “Time is running out to prepare your entry for this year’s Worcester Show.
“With a host of trophies and medals to be won, now is the perfect time to show Worcester your talents whether they are in photography, painting, literacy, baking, growing vegetables or crafting.

“We also have novice category in Floral Art, so this is the perfect opportunity to try your hand at a different skill.
“The school summer holiday also provides a perfect opportunity to get children away from screens and preparing their own entry.”
One of the recent additions to the Competition Marquee is the floral decorations/art category – including a novice sub-category.
Meanwhile, the literature category is an opportunity for wordsmiths to show their talents. This can include writing a poem, short story, haiku or limerick.
