When to put your bins out this Christmas and New Year

There will be a small number of changes to Worcester residents’ bin collections over the Christmas and New Year periods.

People whose bins would normally be emptied on Thursdays are being asked to put them out for collection on the following Saturdays, 27 December and 3 January.

If your bin would normally be emptied on Friday 26 December, you should instead put it out for collection on Monday 29 December.

All other dates for domestic bin collection will remain the same.

Please remember to make sure your bins are placed out by 7am on your day of collection. 

Remember: you can put large cardboard boxes, Christmas cards (except glitter ones) and wrapping paper (excluding foil or glittery paper) in your green bin. Tin foil and tinsel need to go in the black bin.

Extra crews will be working on Saturday 27 December, Monday 29 December and Saturday 3 January.

Bin collections return to normal from Tuesday 6 January 2025.

There will be no bulky waste collections from 23 December to 1 January. You can still book a bulky waste collection in the normal way here.

For trade waste collections, there will be changes across the Christmas and New Year weeks.
