What is Pride in Place Warndon?
Pride in Place is a national Government programme designed to bring long‑term investment into local communities.
Warndon West is one of 169 areas chosen to take part, and will receive £20 million over the next 10 years.
The best part? Local residents will decide how the money is spent.
This means people who live or work in Warndon can help shape the future of their neighbourhood and improve the places that matter most to them.
The project aims to:
- Give local people a strong voice
- Bring neighbours together
- Help make Warndon a lively, safe, and welcoming place for generations to come
Everyone’s views will be listened to from today and for the next 10 years. No idea is too big or too small. This can be done by filling out the survey below or attending one of our engagement sessions or by emailing

How will it work?
Over the next 10 years, the £20 million investment will be split into:
- £12.47 million for capital projects (such as new buildings, improvements, or renovations)
- £7.19 million for revenue funding (to help run or maintain projects and buildings)
This funding will be delivered in three phases across the decade.
Importantly, the Government and Council won’t decide how the money is used—the people of Warndon will.
A Neighbourhood Board is being created to help make these decisions.
Here are some more details about the board:
- The Board will shape how money is invested over the 10 years.
- Worcester City Council will support by gathering views and helping set up the Board.
- The Board will include at least eight members, most of whom should live or work in Warndon.
- You don’t need any previous board experience—training and support will be provided.
- The board is expected to be in place and have its own work programme by November 2026

Pride in Place Warndon Community Fun Day - Saturday 26 September
Join us for a fantastic afternoon of family fun at our Pride in Place Community Fun Day!
Taking place on Saturday 26 September from 12pm to 5pm on Shap Drive, this free event brings the community together.
There will be something for everyone to enjoy, including:
- Bouncy castles and a disco bouncy castle
- Live music from singers and bands
- Dance performances
- Football and archery activities
- Face painting
- Bingo and tombola
- A family picnic area
- Candy floss and food refreshments, including pork wraps
- A community disco and entertainment throughout the day
Sensory Hall
We are proud to be providing a dedicated Sensory Hall, offering a calm, safe and inclusive space for children who may benefit from a quieter environment.
The sensory area will include specialist equipment such as a bubble house and soft play. It will be supervised by staff throughout the event.

The event is designed to be welcoming and accessible for everyone, with activities suitable for all ages.

Join the Pride in Place Warndon Youth Advisory Board
Applications are now open for the Pride in Place Warndon Youth Advisory Board.
We are looking for young people who are passionate about their local community and want to play an active role in shaping the future of Warndon.
As a member of the Youth Advisory Board, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and provide valuable insight into the delivery of the £20 million Pride in Place investment. This is your chance to ensure that the voices of young people are heard and reflected in local projects and initiatives.

How is the Pride in Place Warndon scheme progressing?
Lots of planning with groups from across Warndon has been happening behind the scenes as the programme has taken its first steps.
A successful recruitment process has resulted in Hannah Harrison being appointed as Chair and the Independent Board has been appointed.
The Board are now considering consultation feedback and drawing up plans for the scheme
