Introduction

Worcester City Council Parking Services has actively contributed to reducing congestion and easing traffic flow throughout the city over the last year. And this has been made possible by working closely with numerous partners and stakeholders who need access to the heart of this historic city.

Car Park in Worcester

The Civil Enforcement Team patrol daily all fifteen of our Council car parks, responding to queries, making sure the car parks are used appropriately and they are safe for all our customers.  Across the city the team have responded to requests from residents, businesses and members of the public who have reported problems or concerns with parking.

We continue to build on the excellent close working relationships with our partners in Worcester Police, Worcestershire County Council, Worcester University, Visit Worcester and Worcester Bid to provide joined up solutions to the problems that careless or inconsiderate parking can create.

A key strand of our Council policy is to support and encourage economic activity in the City. To this end car parking charges have again been held constant with no price increases across all Council car parks, so that local businesses can be supported in these difficult financial times.

Innovations to provide improved services and access for all our customers are another way of ensuring we encourage people to visit Worcester and come back again. An example of this is the introduction this year of a cashless parking system in every car park for those who wish to pay by mobile telephone. This has been a resounding success, with a large take-up from customers.
