Elections 2019

Worcester City Council Elections

There will be 11 vacant seats on the City Council in May 2019, one each in the following Wards:

Ward Seats
Arboretum One
Bedwardine One
Cathedral One
Claines One
Nunnery One
St Clements One
St John One
St Peter`s Parish One
St Stephen One
Warndon Parish North One
Warndon Parish South One

If you are registered in one of the following Wards there will be no City Election this year:

  • Battenhall
  • Gorse Hill
  • Rainbow Hill
  • Warndon

Parish Council Elections

All Parish Council seats will be vacant in May 2019. If the Parish elections are contested the poll will be held alongside the City elections, each eligible elector will receive 2 ballot papers at the polling station or be sent 2 postal voting packs. If the elections are not contested, any nominated candidates will be appointed to the relevant Parish Council and any remaining vacant seats will be filled by co-option. The following Parishes will have vacant seats:

  • St. Peter the Great County (9 seats)
  • Warndon North (4 seats)
  • Warndon South (4 seats)

Important dates

The following dates apply to both City & Parish elections; if a Parish election is uncontested the dates after the 3rd April will not be relevant to that election.

Friday 22 March Notice of Election published on this website

Monday 25 March

Poll Cards delivery begins, all poll cards should have been received by 14 April by electors who were registered before 1 March. Electors registering after 1 March will receive their Poll Cards by post before Polling Day. If you live in one of the Wards listed above and do not receive a Poll Card, please email electoralservices@worcester.gov.uk to check you are registered.

Wednesday 3 April

4pm close of nominations deadline.

Wednesday 10 April

Initial batch of postal votes will be issued. If you were registered as a postal voter before 1st March, your postal vote will be included in this batch.

Friday 12 April

Last day to Register to vote to be eligible to vote on 2 May. You can register at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

Monday 15 April 5pm deadline for receipt of postal vote applications. You can download a postal vote form here
Wednesday 24 April 5pm deadline for receipt of proxy vote applications. You can download a proxy vote form here
Wednesday 24 April

Second batch of postal votes will be issued to electors granted a postal vote after 1 March.
