How can we help you?
Housing Benefit & Council Tax Support

Advise us when your income changes

If you already receive Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support and your income changes, it is very important that you tell us immediately.
  • if you or your partner start or finish work
  • any increase or decrease in your income or your partner’s income
  • an increase or decrease in your savings or your partner’s savings
  • It is important you tell us if your combined capital exceeds £6,000 if you are of working age or £10,000 if you are pensionable age as a tariff income will likely apply.
  • you or your partner start or stop getting Universal Credit or other benefits. For example, Attendance Allowance, Personal Independence Payments (PIP), or Pension Credit
  • the income of another adult living with you changes.

Any delay may impact the date the benefit is paid from and the amount you may receive. You can download and complete the pdf Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Change of Income Form (598 KB)  or contact us and let us know straight away.
