Design Review Panel - Privacy Notice
The Notice explains how we will treat any personal information that you do give us as part of your Expression of Interest in being a Panel Member and if you are appointed to the Panel, and when we will delete your personal information.

Providing the opportunity to be invited to join the Council’s Design Review Panel and to provide feedback on development proposals as part of the work of the Design Review Panel.

Consequences of failing to provide personal data
- If you do not provide the required personal data, it may prevent you from being appointed to the Panel.

Purpose of Processing
- To provide a Design Review Service to assess and provide feedback to applicants/agents/architects on design quality
- To contact you regarding the appointment and administration of the Panel
- Service planning / improvement (informing decision-making and development outcomes)
- To eliminate discrimination and advance equality under the Equalities Act 2010.
Our lawful basis for using your personal data under Article 6 of the UK General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) is:
- Data subject has given their consent (Regulation 1(a)) – if requested for specific purpose, e.g. see ‘Who we share the information with’ section below.
- Performance of a task carried out in the public interest (in accordance with Regulation 12 of The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012).
- Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation under the Equalities Act 2010.

Who we share the information with:
We will not share your personal information with any other third parties unless the law requires us to do so or we have specifically sought your permission, for example to make Panel membership information available on the Council’s website.
How long we hold your information
- Information obtained as part of Expression of Interest for individuals not appointed to the Panel – 2 months after collection
- Information regarding Panel members – 12 months after last attendance at a Design Review Panel meeting
The information outlined in this privacy notice will be kept in accordance with our retention schedule. All information will be held securely and destroyed under confidential conditions.
