Community Trigger Privacy Notice

Service being provided

Administration of the Community Trigger (Anti‑social Behaviour Case Review) process. This gives victims of persistent anti‑social behaviour the right to request a review of how relevant agencies have responded to reported incidents and to consider whether further action is required, under the Anti‑social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

Consequences of failing to provide personal data

If you do not provide the required information, we may be unable to consider your request for a Community Trigger or carry out a full review of the response to anti‑social behaviour you have reported.

Purpose of Processing

• Administer the Community Trigger process
• Review responses to reports of persistent anti‑social behaviour
• Support safeguarding and victim protection
• Coordinate information‑sharing between relevant agencies
• Identify and consider further enforcement or support actions

Lawful basis for processing personal data

• Article 6(1)(e) UK GDPR – processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority.

This processing is carried out in accordance with statutory powers under the Anti‑social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

Lawful basis for processing special category data

• Article 9(2)(g) UK GDPR – processing necessary for reasons of substantial public interest, supported by Schedule 1, Part 2 of the Data Protection Act 2018, including safeguarding of individuals at risk and prevention of unlawful acts; and 
• Article 10 UK GDPR, where processing relates to criminal convictions or offences, with appropriate safeguards in place.

• housing associations
• South Worcestershire Community Safety Partnership
• Worcestershire Regulatory Services
• health services
• other local authorities.

Information is shared only where required to carry out the Community Trigger process, protect individuals, or prevent further harm.

Details of data transfers outside the UK and safeguards in place

We do not routinely transfer data outside of the UK. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, appropriate safeguards are in place, such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses.

Automated decision-making

We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling in relation to this processing.

How long we hold your information

We will only keep your information for the minimum period necessary. The information outlined in this privacy notice will be kept in accordance with our retention schedule. All information will be held securely and destroyed under confidential conditions.
